Terms and Conditions

All Products in this catalogue are sold subject to the Terms and Conditions set out below. Nothing mentioned in these Conditions affects your statutory rights.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the words and expressions below have the following meanings:

  • ‘Conditions’ means these terms and conditions.
  • ‘Distance Communication’ means purchases made exclusively via telephone, fax, e-mail, mail order and/or on the Laura Ashley website
  • ‘Product(s)’ means any Laura Ashley product(s).
  • ‘Furniture’ means beds and cabinet items such as wardrobes, chests of drawers, bedside tables, tables, selected dining chairs, selected mirrors (as stated), mattresses, and Products.
  • means Furniture packed for assembly by the customer.
  • ‘Upholstery’ means Products that are upholstered in fabric or leather such as sofas, chairs, footstools and headboards.
  • ‘Non-MTO Upholstery’ means Upholstery available in only one option and not made to your order and specifications.
  • ‘Made-to-Measure’ means Products such as curtains, blinds, bedspreads and valances made to measurements and specifications provided by you.
  • ‘Standard Home Furnishings’ means cushions, lighting, wallpaper, selected mirrors (unless otherwise stated) and excludes Upholstery, Furniture, and Made-to-Measure.
  • ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’ means Laura Ashley Limited
  • ‘you’, ‘your’ means the customer.
Orders
  • Products have a minimum order value of £10.
  • Your order becomes binding as soon as we have accepted it. All orders are subject to availability.
  • Made-to-Order (MTO) Upholstery and Made-to-Measure (MTM) Products are made in accordance with your requirements and specifications.
  • We rely on the accuracy of the information you provide and as such, please provide accurate and complete measurements and specifications for your MTO Upholstery and MTM order.
  • You are responsible for checking and confirming that you are satisfied that all details and aspects of your order are correct and suitable for your requirements and specifications including without limitation measurements, dimensions, product features, access and delivery.
  • We are not liable for any failed or incorrect MTO Upholstery or MTM Product orders made as a result of any inaccurate and/or incomplete information provided by you.
  • We reserve the right to refuse to supply any individual or company.
International Customers:
  • MTM Products such as curtains and blinds, MTO Upholstery and Cabinet Furniture, Mirrors, Beds, sealed plug lighting and paint are not available for delivery outside the UK.
  • Please note that import restrictions on certain products or materials may apply and can vary between countries. Please check your local customs requirements before placing an order for international delivery. Laura Ashley cannot offer any assistance and accept liability in this regard.

2. Ownership

The Website is an official website of Laura Ashley Limited and the copyright and the database rights are owned by Laura Ashley Limited. The Website and all intellectual property rights (including but not limited to rights in the website as a database) in its text, design, graphics, and the selection, organization and arrangement thereof, together with the Laura Ashley trademark and all other trademarks, logos and trade names depicted on the Website belong to Laura Ashley Limited.

3. Limited Licence and Restrictions

You acknowledge and agree that the material and content contained on the Website is made available to you for your personal and non-commercial use and that you may only download such material and content for the purpose of using the Website to a single personal computer. Furthermore you acknowledge and agree that any other use of the material and content of the Website is strictly prohibited and you agree that it is strictly prohibited to (or to assist or facilitate any third party to) copy, reproduce, transmit, modify, publish, display, distribute, commercially exploit or create derivative works of material and/or content from the Website without our written permission and is a violation of our intellectual property rights.

4. Basis of Sale

All orders that you place on the Website will be subject to acceptance in accordance with these terms and conditions.

The following is required to create a contract between you and us:

Please follow the simple onscreen instructions taking you through the process of placing an order on the website. You place the order for your products by pressing "Go to Checkout" on the "Review Your Order page", in doing so you offer to buy the Goods at the prices indicated as well as any applicable delivery charges.

An order acknowledgement email will be sent to you detailing the products you have ordered. Please note that this email is merely an acknowledgement of your order and not an acceptance or confirmation of your order by Laura Ashley.

Except for all orders of Furniture, Upholstery and/or Made-to-Measure products, the acceptance of your order and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on dispatch of the products unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it. If you have ordered Furniture, Upholstery and/or Made-to-Measure products the acceptance of your order and the completion of the contract between you and us will occur when you receive a confirmatory letter from us unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it. Once we have accepted your order it becomes binding, subject to your rights of cancellation. Non-acceptance of an order by us will occur if: the ordered product is out of stock or unavailable; we identify a pricing or product description error; or we are unable to obtain authorisation for your payment.

We reserve the right to withdraw any Products from this Website at any time and/or remove or edit any materials or content on this Website. We may refuse to process a transaction for any reason or refuse service to anyone at any time at our sole discretion. We will not be liable to you or any third party by reason of our withdrawing any Product from this Website whether or not that Product has been sold; removing or editing any materials or content on the Website; refusing to process a transaction or unwinding or suspending any transaction after processing has begun.

To be eligible to purchase Products on this Website and lawfully enter into and form contracts on this Website under English law you must: be over 18 years of age; register by providing your real name, phone number, email address, payment details and other requested information; provide a valid delivery address in the United Kingdom; (Please note that PO box numbers, hotels and temporary accommodation addresses are not acceptable); and possess a valid Laura Ashley Account Card, or a valid credit or debit card issued by a bank acceptable to us.

Please note that any acceptance of an order placed from outside the United Kingdom is not valid.

5. Upholstery and Made-to-Measure Products

Upholstery Options
Choosing your Fabric and Leather Covers:
  • Many of our fabrics have natural characteristics such as slubs, creasing or pile shading, which make them wonderfully unique. Please take time to understand these characteristics so that you can select a fabric or leather that is perfect for you.
  • As all upholstery can be affected by light, we recommend that it is positioned away from direct sunlight and heat to protect it from fading and premature wear and aging.
  • Regular cleaning in accordance with the cleaning instructions will also prevent dirt prematurely aging or fading your fabric. Samples and Swatches:
  • To help you visualise how different fabrics will work in your home, you can pick up a wide range of free fabric swatches from our stores. A selection of larger fabric samples can be loaned on request.
  • To order up to eight fabric swatches or up to four leather swatches, to be sent direct to your home,please call our Customer Services on 0871 230 2301 (Please note that calls cost 10p per minute plus network extras and may be recorded or monitored,) or order in store by quoting the product number and a description of the Product.

Finer Details:

We offer lots of choices to make your upholstery Product truly individual. Fixed or Loose Cover?

  • Loose covers are available on selected Products and offer a more casual fit, offering versatility for cleaning and updating your look. Regular re-dressing will keep the covers neat and tidy.
  • Fixed covers are more tailored and can be cleaned in location. We recommend that covers are professionally cleaned. Dark or Light Woodwork?
  • Many Fabric Upholstery ranges offer a choice of light or dark legs and finials, to co-ordinate with your furniture. Sofabeds
  • Ideal for accommodating extra guests, sofa beds contain a bed mechanism under the seat cushion which makes them a little firmer to sit on, but just as beautiful as a standard sofa.
Added Extras:
Armcaps
  • Available to purchase on most shapes. We recommend the use of armcaps to help protect your furniture for longer.
  • Provide extra durability where it is most needed to prevent premature wear and tear.
  • Protection against staining and conveniently removed for cleaning.
Scatter Cushions
  • Available to purchase in any upholstery fabric to add that perfect finishing touch.
  • Generously proportioned, each cushion measures 41cm x 41cm
  • Cushions are sold individually to give both style and comfort to your sofa.
Keeping Your Seats & Cushions Plumped

To preserve the appearance of your furniture and to prevent fibre and feather filled cushions from flattening, please follow these three simple steps:

  1. Cushions should be plumped by beating vigorously on each edge at least once a week. The more often this is carried out the better the filling will perform.
  2. Cushion pads should be removed regularly from their outer cover to facilitate plumping and rotation.
  3. Reversible cushions should be swapped around and turned where possible to ensure equal wear. Non-reversible cushions should have the pad turned inside the cover.

Selected Products have feather filled pads. This is a luxury pad filling and will flatten with use. It is easily restored with the same maintenance regime as fibre pads. The Information and Care Guide provides detailed guidance on pad maintenance and an information sheet will arrive with your Product.

Furniture Options
Choosing your Cabinet Range:

We offer a wide range of furniture options to suit all tastes. Some ranges have extra character added by using hand-applied patinas, such as the Provencale range, or distressing effects, such as the Bramley range. Some ranges have special finishes which require extra care, such as the Milton range which needs regular oiling.

Wood Grain

Our beautiful oiled, waxed or lacquered Products are designed to highlight the natural beauty of wood and will often show interesting features such as knots, grain shading and medullary rays where wood is cut across the grain. These will often vary from Product to Product so that no two Products are the same and your Product is truly unique.

Oiled Ranges

To protect oiled furniture Products from spills and to keep them looking great, regular oiling is required. It is easy to carry out - simply apply Danish Oil, available from most DIY stores, with a lint free cloth quite thinly every month during the first three months and annually, or whenever the appearance requires it thereafter. Occassionally some Products eg table tops may require a light oiling on delivery due to the variable absorbancy of wood. More details on protecting oiled furniture Products are available in the Information and Care Guide.

Light and Heat

All cabinet furniture can be affected by light and this can alter its colour over time. We recommend that it is positioned away from direct sunlight and heat to help maintain its colour for longer.

Self Assembly Products

Some of our Products are designed to be assembled by the customer at home. Assembly is simple and detailed instructions will be supplied with the Product. On delivery of these Products, you will only have to sign for the packaged Products on delivery.

Three Steps to ensure a problem free delivery

Before ordering, please check carefully that the Upholstery and Furniture Products you have ordered will fit into the intended space in your home:

  1. Check the dimensions of the space in which the product will be placed
    • Allow for skirting boards especially in recesses, door or window frames, and headroom under any unusual spaces such as sloping roofs.
    • When ordering a sofa bed, recliner or any extending item (e.g. a dining table), remember to consider your Product’s size when opened.
    • Product dimensions shown are taken from the largest or widest point H = Height, W = Width D= Depth
  2. Measure any staircases, doorways or corridors the Product will have to pass through, including space for manoeuvring and turning
    • This is especially important on Products marked by as this indicates they will require extra space for manoeuvring during delivery and so all measurements should be checked carefully.
    • To protect your Products, wherever possible we deliver into the delivery address fully boxed and packaged. Information on sizes, the turning spaces and measurements required to assist in delivering your Product successfully can be found on our website www.lauraashley.com.
    • Our delivery vehicles are large. Please check that they can gain safe and ample access to or immediately adjacent to the delivery address.
    • Please let us know at time of order if there are any access restrictions or special needs, which must be considered to ensure a successful delivery.
Keep Your Furniture and Upholstery Looking Good
Guardsman Protection
  • Most of our fabric upholstery is given a protective stain resistant treatment (except washed linen and lindale).
  • For peace of mind on Furniture and Upholstery in case of those little mishaps see page 302 for more details of our Guardsman Warranties, which offer guaranteed cover against accidents that may cause permanent damage to your furniture.
Information and Care Guides
  • The Guide provides useful information about the features of each Product range and how to care for them correctly.
  • To help you make informed choices about our Products, the Guide is available to view in store or on our website www.lauraashley.com and will also be delivered with your selected Product.
Standard Home Delivery
Charges and Timeframes
  • Furniture and Upholstery Orders of £1000 and over after discount, FREE DELIVERY.
  • A delivery charge of £25 applies to Furniture and Upholstery Orders under £1000, after discount.
  • Certain selected Furniture (as indicated) is delivered by standard parcel delivery at £4.50. Where applicable this is marked in all Laura Ashley mailers and publications.
  • Made-to-Measure, Standard Home Furnishings and selected Furniture delivered by standard parcel delivery does not contribute towards the qualifying value for free delivery.
  • Additional charges may apply in certain circumstances..
  • When you order, we will give you an approximate week that our carrier will contact you to arrange delivery. Depending on the Products ordered, the Products with the longest time to completion may determine your estimated delivery week.
Arranging and Completing
  • We have our own fleet of delivery vehicles, although occasionally we use other carefully selected carriers.
  • Once your order is ready we will call you to arrange a delivery date, which may only be on one regular day each week in your delivery area due to carrier availability. We are unable to agree specific delivery times and dates requested.
  • Approximately two days before the agreed delivery date we will try and call, leave a message or send a text to confirm the agreed delivery date and estimated time window of our arrival. To help in planning, if you request, we will try to call you about an hour before our arrival.
  • A two-person delivery crew will deliver to your room of choice, provided there is ample and safe access. Please assist us by clearing pathways and removing fragile items in advance of delivery.
  • Your furniture will be unpacked, set in position, and assembled with the packaging removed and taken away, excluding products such as metal beds.
  • Products must be carefully checked at time of delivery and signed for by an adult. Any defect or damage must be reported to Customer Services immediately. If requested we can leave packaging after the Products have been checked.
  • We will provide a comprehensive Information and Care Guide on delivery to help you maintain the quality of your product. Please take time to read and follow the Information and Care Guide carefully.

6. Cancellations and Returns

  • When returning Products, please return them to us by one of the following methods together with proof of purchase (a receipt or despatch note).
  • We ask that you take reasonable care when handling the Products and return the Products unopened, unused and in their original packaging, where possible.
Standard Home Furnishings
  • For hygiene reasons, pillows and duvets cannot be returned once the protective seal has been opened unless confirmed as defective or mis-described.
  • Once Products have been delivered, you may return them within 28 days of receipt of delivery by one of the methods below:-
By Post:
  • You may return any Products to us by post at your own cost and risk.
  • Please note that we are not liable for any loss or damage to any returned Products in transit and as such, we recommend that you return any Products through a recorded delivery service.
  • When returning Products, please package the Products properly and securely together with the despatch note to ensure that the Products may not damaged in transit.
  • If returned Products are lost or damaged in transit, we reserve the right to charge you (or refund any amounts attributable to) such loss or damage.
  • If you prefer to return the Products by ordinary post, please return using the prepaid label enclosed with your order to: Returns Department, Laura Ashley, PO Box 19 Newtown, Powys, SY16 1DZ.
  • For international returns, postage is payable by the customer for postal returns from outside the UK. You must retain your proof of postage.
In Store:
  • Products can be returned in person to any of our stores, provided fashion Products are returned to Fashion stores and home Products to Home stores.
  • Products purchased by mail order or on our website must be returned within 28 days of receipt with the despatch note.
  • Products will remain your responsibility until we receive them.
  • Refunds will be given through the original payment method where appropriate.
Made to Measure, Upholstery and Furniture
  • If you need to amend or cancel your Made-to-Measure, Upholstery or Furniture order you may only do so up to 48 hours after you have placed your order by contacting Customer Services
  • After 48hours, we reserve the right to charge you for any costs we may incur in relation to your amended or cancelled order. This charge shall not exceed 25% of the value of the Products amended or cancelled.
  • Once received, these Products cannot be returned unless inspected and confirmed as defective by a Laura Ashley appointed inspector.
  • Upholstery and Furniture cannot be returned direct to our stores. For further information on our returns policy, please contact Customer Services*
  • Furniture and Non-MTO Upholstery purchased exclusively via distance communication may be cancelled or returned at any time up to 7 days from the day after receipt of the Product by informing us within that period that you wish to do so.
  • If the Furniture has already been despatched or delivered it must be kept in perfect condition for collection by our nominated carrier and will be subject to a non-refundable collection fee of £60.
  • For hygiene reasons, mattresses cannot be returned once the packaging is opened, unless confirmed defective by a Laura Ashley appointed inspector.
Defective Products
  • On delivery, please check the Products carefully for any possible defects.
  • If you believe that any of our Products may be defective or of unsatisfactory quality, please notify Customer Services* as soon as possible, where possible, or within a reasonable time.
  • We ask that you take reasonable care of the Products while your claim is being investigated. Please do not return any Products which you believe may be defective before contacting Customer Services*.
  • If you are returning a Product from outside the UK, you are responsible for return postage costs and retaining proof of postage.
  • If the Products are confirmed defective or mis-described, we will reimburse you for reasonable return postage costs.
  • If all Products confirmed defective constitute the entire order or if all Products were faulty or damaged, the original delivery charge will be reimbursed.

7. Delivery

Delivery Services

Essential information before ordering Furniture and Upholstery


  • Re-delivery or collection charges of £60 will apply where no one is available to accept delivery, where goods will not fit into the rooms intended after being left on the delivery address, or there is no lorry access to the delivery address. Cancellation fees of up to 25% of the value of Products may also apply if the Products are subsequently cancelled.
  • An adult must be present at the delivery address to carefully check the unwrapped Products, and sign and acknowledge that the Products have been received in a satisfactory condition.
  • Any visible damage to the Products or your property caused as a result of delivery must be reported to Customer Services immediately. We will not accept liability for visible damage not reported within three days of delivery.
  • For Furniture packed for assembly by the customer, you are only required to sign and acknowledge receipt of the packaged Products.
  • The delivery crew will not attempt delivery if there may be health and safety risks or where damage to your home may result, and they will not remove doors,windows or any structural construction in order to attempt delivery.

Standard Parcel Delivery

  • We rely on the accuracy of the information you provide. As such, please provide an accurate, complete, secure and attended delivery address for your order.
  • We are not liable for any delays and/or failed deliveries as a result of any inaccurate and/or incomplete delivery address provided by you.
  • We only deliver Standard Home Furnishings and Made-to-Measure (MTM) Products by Standard Parcel Delivery to the following UK territories: Mainland UK, Northern Ireland, offshore UK Islands and Channel Islands excluding Excludes the Isle of Man, see the Store Locator.
  • The minimum charge for Standard Parcel Delivery on Standard Home Furnishings, MTM Products and, selected Furniture (as indicated) is £4.50.
  • We aim to deliver Standard Home Furnishings that are in stock, within 5 to 7 working days of accepting your order, however delivery times are not guaranteed.
  • Any delivery dates specified by us are intended to be an estimate and time for delivery shall not be made of the essence. If no dates are so specified, delivery shall be within a reasonable time.
  • Multiple Product orders may be delivered separately.

Standard Home Delivery

  • We only deliver: Furniture, Upholstery, beds and mattresses to Mainland UK, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Wight.
  • Selected mirrors (as stated), Furniture and Upholstery orders of £1000 and over after discount are entitled to free delivery; orders under £1000 after discount, the delivery charge is £25. Additional charges may apply in certain circumstances.
  • Certain selected Furniture is delivered by Standard Parcel Delivery at £4.40. Where applicable this is indicated in all Laura Ashley mailers and publications.
  • Made-to-Measure Standard Home Furnishings and selected Furniture delivered by Standard Parcel Delivery do not contribute towards the qualifying value for free delivery.
  • It is your responsibility to advise us of any non-standard delivery circumstances that may apply when ordering as additional delivery charges are payable on deliveries above the first floor, deliveries requiring more than two delivery crew, deliveries requiring a small van for access and deliveries in any other exceptional circumstances. Please see our website www.lauraashley.com for more information. Any additional charges will range from £60 to £130 depending on the circumstances.
  • Our staff will advise you of any applicable additional delivery charges when you place your order, or as soon as possible thereafter. For prices and availability, please contact Customer Services.
  • When you order, we will give you an estimated week that our carrier will contact you to arrange delivery.
  • Depending on the Products ordered, the Product with the longest time to completion may determine your estimated delivery week.
  • Delivery dates and weeks are not guaranteed and specific times and days cannot be agreed at any time during the order process. Any dates specified by us for delivery of the Product(s) are intended to be an estimate and time for delivery shall not be made of the essence. If no dates are so specified, delivery shall be within a reasonable time.
  • We shall not be liable for delays and/or failures in delivery if we cannot gain access to the delivery address on the agreed delivery date or under any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
  • If you cannot accept the delivery dates offered within three weeks of the original delivery date this may delay your delivery, and storage charges will apply.

International Delivery

  • Our minimum charge for international deliveries is £10.
  • All parcels must be signed for and acknowledged on delivery.
  • If no one is available to accept delivery, we will attempt another delivery and hold your parcel for up for 7 days.
  • If we are unable to deliver after 7 days, we will consider the delivery as failed and your parcel will be returned to Laura Ashley.
  • On receipt of a failed delivery, Laura Ashley shall refund the order value less the delivery charge.
Important Delivery & Storage Information
Please note that we will charge you a non-refundable storage fee of £100 per full week in the following circumstances:-
  • Where we have been unable to make a delivery booking with you within three weeks after the original delivery date of the Products or first booking attempt by Customer Services* (whichever is the later).
  • Where delivery bookings have been made and you are unavailable to take delivery of your order after agreeing delivery dates with Customer Services*, re-delivery charges of £60 will also apply.

8. Risk of Damage in Transit and Property

We carry the risk of loss or damage to the Products until you receive them. The Products will belong to you when you have received them and have paid us in full. Until payment has been made in full we may ask you to return the Products to us at any time. If you return the Products to us for any reason, they will become our property and be at our risk from the time we receive them.

9. Upholstery Guarantee

The frame construction and springs of all our Upholstery (excluding ex-display and seconds) are guaranteed for normal domestic use for five years, provided that the Information and Care Guide has been followed.
Please contact Customer Services* if you have any questions in connection with this Guarantee or wish to request a copy of the Guarantee.

10. Product use

All of our Products are designed for domestic use. If you intend to use our Products for non-domestic/commercial purposes, please contact Customer Services* as some Products may require different specifications

11. Carpets

  • Price quotations for carpets include underlay and fittings charges.
    To ensure a high quality service, installation of carpets by our approved professional fitters is a requirement of purchase.
  • A measuring fee of £25 is payable at the time a measurement is requested. This fee is deducted from the order total when you place an order for carpets.

12. Made-to-Measure

  • We rely on the accuracy of your measurements when you place an order(s) for Made-to-Measure Products.
  • We will not be liable for any inaccurate measurements provided by you.
  • Metric measurements should be provided. If you provide imperial measurements you are responsible for checking that all conversions are accurate. All fabrics are subject to availability.

13. Product Descriptions, Colours and Unique Features

Every effort is made to ensure that the Products we supply correspond as closely as possible to the samples displayed in our shops or shown in our catalogue or online, but there may be variations as natural materials have unique characteristics. No responsibility can be accepted for these variations, which all add to the unique features of our Products including but not limited to the following:

  • On fabric the shade may vary slightly from one printing batch to another.
  • Fabric patterns are not matched on upholstery unless identified by the symbol.
  • There is a 3% allowance on fabric alignment. Please see page 263 for details.
  • All measurements are approximate. Please allow +/- 2 cm variance on sizes stated.
  • Leather is a natural product and characteristics such as shade variation, random scars and blemishes should not be misinterpreted as defects. Scratches and marks may occur through everyday use, and all high-grade leathers will mould uniquely to body shapes. For further details please see page 292.
  • Many of our Furniture Products are individually hand finished and there may be differences between batches. These will be more apparent if orders are placed at different times.
  • As part of the design, some Furniture and Upholstery is hand finished to appear distressed This will vary between Products and is not a defect.
  • We reserve the right to make any change to the internal specifications of our Products or minor external changes where necessary.
  • Please check the features and details of the selected Products shown in our promotional mailers and publications before ordering as these Promotional Products may vary from the Products shown in our own catalogue, website or stores.

14. Anti Fur Policy

Laura Ashley feel very strongly about the use of real fur in fashion, and believe that the breeding of animals for their fur cannot be justified. We therefore prefer to use imitation fur only. Our leather and sheepskin fashion products use skins which are a bi-product of the food industry only.

15. Prices

  • Prices include VAT and exclude delivery charges unless otherwise stated.
  • All prices are correct at time of entering but may change due to inadvertent administrative errors or circumstances beyond our control, such as any variations to the rate of VAT.
  • The VAT rate will change at midnight on the 31st of December 2009 to 17.5% in accordance with the HM Revenue & Customs ruling.
International Customers

  • All items are sold on a DDU (Delivery Duty unpaid) basis. Additional taxes, fees and/or levies may apply in accordance with local legislation. Please check these details before placing an order for international delivery.
  • www.lauraashley.com is a UK website. We only accept Pounds Sterling (£) on all transactions made.
  • If you are paying with an international credit or bank payment card, you may be subject to an additional administration/handling fee and/or any other charges that may apply by the Credit Card Company or bank who will also determine the currency conversion rate applicable at the time of the transaction.

16. Payment Methods

You may pay using your Laura Ashley Account Card, or by Visa, MasterCard, Switch and American Express.

You confirm that the credit, debit or store card that is being used is yours.

All credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to or does not, for any reason, authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.

All card payments are processed for you by our credit card acquirers for a 1.5% fee included in the cost of your purchase. The balance is paid to Laura Ashley Limited. The total amount you pay is the same regardless of the payment method.

Account Cards Privilege Point vouchers cannot be redeemed online.

17. Website Content

We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of Products appearing on the Website are correct at the time when the relevant information was uploaded onto the system. Although we aim to keep the Website as up to date as possible, the information including Product Descriptions appearing on this Website at a particular time may not always reflect the position exactly at the moment you place an order. We cannot confirm the price of a Product until your order is accepted in accordance with our Order acceptance policy. Please note that in the event that an error is identified non-acceptance of an order by us may occur, subject to your statutory rights.

22. Liability and Warranties

Nothing in the terms and conditions in any way limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or by fraud.

We shall not be liable for any economic losses (including without limitation loss of profits, revenue, business, contracts, management time, data or anticipated savings) nor for any loss of goodwill or reputation nor for any indirect loss whether arising in contract or tort (including negligence) or pre-contractual or other representations (except for fraudulent or negligent misrepresentation) or otherwise even if advised of the probability of such damage or where it was foreseeable. Except in the event of death or personal injury, in no event shall our liability under these terms and conditions exceed the amount paid or payable by you for the Products or Goods. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, nor does it affect your rights of cancellation.

We shall take all reasonable precautions to keep the details of your order and payment secure, except where we are negligent, we cannot be held liable for any losses caused as a result of unauthorised access to information provided by you.

In addition to allowing us to check your creditworthiness and process your orders, the personal data you submit, and our records of your visits to the Site, will be used to monitor and improve our service to you, and for marketing purposes. 24.Risk and Title

No order is binding on you or Laura Ashley until we have accepted it. All title and ownership to the ordered Goods will pass to you from the moment they are dispatched by us to the postal service, or to our carriers, or on payment in full by you of the price of the Goods and any delivery charge (if applicable); and risk will pass on delivery.

25. Entire Agreement

You confirm that, in agreeing to accept these terms and conditions, you have not relied on any representation save insofar as the same has expressly been made a term of these terms and conditions and you agree that you shall have no remedy in respect of any representation.

26. Severance

If any provision contained in these terms and conditions is considered by any court or administrative body of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not effect the other terms and conditions which shall remain in full force and effect.

27. Assignment

You may not assign or sub-contract any of your rights or obligations under these terms and conditions or any related order for products to any third party without our written consent. We reserve the right to transfer, assign, novate or subcontract any of our rights or obligations under these terms and conditions or any related contract to any third party.

28. Waiver

A failure by us to exercise or enforce any right conferred upon us by these terms and conditions shall not be deemed to be a waiver of such right or operate so as to bar the exercise or enforcement thereof at any subsequent time or times.

29. Dealing as a Business

30. General

The laws of England and Wales govern these Conditions and all disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

31. Gift Cards

  1. The Laura Ashley Gift Card (“Gift Card”) can only be used as if validly activated full or part payment towards merchandise at any Laura Ashley stores in UK and/or Republic of Ireland (excluding stores within HOUSE OF FRASER) depending on the currency of the Gift Card. For the avoidance of doubt, Gift Cards in UK Pounds Sterling can only be used in stores in the UK and Gift Cards in EURO can only be used in stores in the Republic of Ireland.
  2. Gift Cards cannot be redeemed online or via telephone / mail-order.
  3. Gift Cards cannot be exchanged for cash or other vouchers, or be used to settle a Laura Ashley Account Card.
  4. Gift Cards are not cheque guarantees, credit or charge cards.
  5. Minimum amount required to top-up a Gift Card is £1. The maximum limit on a Gift Card is £1,000 which may be topped up in store.
  6. Refunds will not be given for the purchase of a Gift Card.
  7. All refunds of purchases made with a Gift Card will be made in accordance with Laura Ashley’s Refund Policy. This does not affect your statutory rights.
  8. In the event of 18 months of consecutive non-use, Gift Cards will expire and any balance remaining will be deducted. (‘Use’ for these purposes includes a balance enquiry, top up or redemption).
  9. Laura Ashley is not liable for any Gift Cards subsequently lost, stolen or damaged once activated.
  10. Laura Ashley reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions from time to time where it reasonably considers it necessary to do so (e.g. to change the scope of the Gift Card service, notify of the services withdrawal or in the event of circumstances beyond its control). Any such change and action to be taken as a result will be notified to customers in advance in all stores.
  11. Laura Ashley will cancel the value of the Gift Card if payment is not received from the customer/purchaser’s bank or credit card company for the initial purchase of the Gift Card. Further action may be taken where fraudulent use of a credit card is suspected. For cash purchases of £10,000 or more, Laura Ashley will require proof of identification. Gift Cards cannot be purchased by cheque.
  12. Gift Card balance may be checked in store, online at www.lauraashley.com or by telephone on 0871 223 1300 (+442071520740 for overseas calls).
  13. Please treat this Gift Card as cash. Lost, damaged or stolen Gift Cards cannot be replaced or refunded. Laura Ashley is not responsible for any unauthorised use of any Gift Cards.
  14. When using a Gift Card as full or part payment towards your purchase transaction, the value/amount paid for your purchases(s) will be deducted from the balance on the Gift Card. Change will not be given.
